Follow a Process

When a business determines a role is redundant in Australia, there is a clear process outlined in the Fair Work legislation. This ensures the process is reasonably managed in a way that supports those impacted. This process includes:

  • Quickly, openly, honestly and transparently discussing proposed changes with those impacted.
  • Once the change is confirmed, providing notice to employees about the redundancy of their role.
  • If terminating an employee’s contract as a result of redundancy, providing them with adequate notice.
