Preparation is so important ahead of an interview. However, not knowing what will be asked on the day, be prepared to tell your story despite bad questions. You need to keep in mind that you will never be able to prepare for all questions, so you really do need to expect the unexpected and put your energy into feeling confident about thinking on your feet and responding with authenticity to any question.

Sometimes, however, the questions just won’t be great. They may not focus on your strengths, or you may feel that they are overly negative or focus on what you haven’t done. The best thing you can do is to remain positive and constructive and answer each question, but perhaps close your response with something positive and focused on what you can do. For example,
